Justice for Danny Brown…

06 Apr 2008

I learned about the story of Danny Brown and how long he has fought to clear his name from Mike’s blog back before Glass City Jungle was even created. Unfortunately, as this recent post on historymike shows, nothing has changed.

Part of that reason is probably related to the lack of media attention and pressure on the Lucas County Prosecutor’s office…I recommend visiting Mike’s blog to read the full information shared and if you are inclined to do just a bit more?

(419) 213-4700 is the phone number listed for the office of Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates.

Maybe she’s too busy not prosecuting fraud cases.

On a more serious note – not being a toledo political insider in any way – Why doesn’t anybody run against Bates? Serious question. How does somebody get that entrenched in such an important post? I don’t get it. Or are prosecutor’s offices across the country similarly political?

It’s rare for a Democrat to challenge an incumbent Democrat and the Republican Party put no one up against her. The reality is that with as weak as the local Republican Party is very few elected Democrats are challenged. So, it’s not normal, in most other places there is a stronger second party and independents that will at least attempt to challenge an incumbent.

Most of the county officials are running unopposed…

Thanks for the link, Lisa, but more importantly: thanks for shining a bit more light on this terrible injustice. It is only through the efforts of people like you – people with no stake in the case beyond a desire for justice – that Danny will ultimately triumph.
