Senator Fedor seeking transparency requests Senator Miller be audited…

19 Mar 2008

This in via email from the office of Ohio Senator Teresa Fedor:

Senator Fedor urges transparency, accountability.

COLUMBUS – State Senator Teresa Fedor (D- Toledo) issued the following statement in response to the March 19th Dispatch article regarding Senate Minority Leader Ray Miller’s campaign finance reports:

“I believe that Leader Miller has acted appropriately in the financing of his personal campaign during and prior to his tenure as Leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus. However, in the interest of transparency and accountability I request that Leader Miller be subject to a full and immediate audit.”

This morning’s Dispatch article detailed Senator Miller’s undocumented campaign expenditures that may be perceived as unethical.

“Ohioans deserve to know how elected officials are spending campaign contributions and an immediate audit will ensure openness and accountability. This issue must be cleared up before the November election. We must focus on critical issues important to all Ohioans such as the foreclosure crisis, healthcare, and education. I look forward to working on substantive issues as we continue the 127th General Assembly.”

Senator Fedor has been a champion of transparency and accountability working on election reform and education throughout her eight-year legislative career.
