Judge O’Neill eyes Congress…

24 Sep 2007

Judge Bill O’Neill is one of those people that I’ve never met but from what I’ve read from him and about him, it’s hard to not be impressed after you read some of his accomplishments. Currently he is running for Ohio’s 14th against Rep. Steve LaTourette but he’s doing more than campaigning, while he may have stepped down from the Court of Appeals in June of 2007, he’s still working as a registered nurse at the Pediatric Emergency Department of Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. You can read more about his life experiences on his bio page, and more about his campaign for the 14th District at his campaign website, O’Neill08 for Congress. There is also a recent Meet the Bloggers interview that shares even more of his thoughts for those of you interested.

Those of you who follow politics closely might remember that Justice O’Neill declined endorsement from The Toledo Blade during the lockout, which is why hearing he was running for Congress caught my attention. As I said, I’ve never met him, but I have learned enough about him to believe this paragraph from his campaign website:

So, join me as we work to restore integrity, common sense and leadership to Congress. And as usual, fasten your seat belts. There is no such thing as a run-of-the-mill O’Neill campaign.
