Bummer.
September 11th, 2007 at 10:13 pmWas at the polls in Point Place all day and there was alot of support for Ball and an anti-establishment mood out there, was very predictable. The voters of District 2 have alot of sense…they squashed the A-team and crony Cichy in this battle.
September 11th, 2007 at 10:15 pmEd Cichy was the kind of leader that District 2 and our City needed. It’s a shame that he came so close and didn’t make it.
September 11th, 2007 at 10:41 pmdp, apparently Molly has spanked Eddie in this one.
September 12th, 2007 at 6:30 amWhat can I say, I called the District 6 race. District 2 was tough, as unless you live in the district, it was difficult to see what kind of grass roots efforts were being made.
As for District 4, I think Ashford is a lock for November.
September 12th, 2007 at 6:57 amNow Joe Kidd can keep living in Detroit and drop the false facade of a Toledo residence.
September 12th, 2007 at 7:03 amWHOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO For Ronnell ! At least she made the ballot
September 12th, 2007 at 7:22 am[...] Read about Toledo here from Glass City Jungle. [...]
September 12th, 2007 at 7:29 amSo Chad…here’s your chance to put your money where your mouth is. Are you gonna get behind the Traynum campaign & help get her elected or just continue to whine about Ashford ?
September 12th, 2007 at 7:45 amsue fitzgerald very disapointed ED CICHY did not win ! i hope he runs again. hopefully against mark sobczak! He does care about our community!
September 12th, 2007 at 8:51 amI’m sorry folks but I’m not impressed by what little I’ve read about Traynum. She comes off as “pie-in-the-sky” inexperienced and not having a real politically philosophical foundation.
Ashford, as nefarious and slimy as he is, had sensible reasoned answers to the Blade’s questions. I’m no Ashford fan and I think the city would do well to send him packing but id Traynum the salvation you’re really looking for? Or is it a case of “give me someone who isn’t Ashford’?
September 12th, 2007 at 8:52 amI have to second in what jrs is saying. Perhaps all the people in District 6 who want changes, start lining up to Ms. Traynum and get her to dismantle Mr. Ashford. However, Ms. Traynum needs to be out in the spotlight more and get her message out to reach to the voters.
September 12th, 2007 at 9:00 amMolly McHugh Branyan…..another political family.
September 12th, 2007 at 9:02 amMatt, I believe at this point we should all be saying…”Anyone other than Mr. Ashford is better for District 6.” IMO I don’t care who it is, perhaps Snoopy is a far much better choice than Mr. Ashford.
September 12th, 2007 at 9:03 am“Molly McHugh Branyan…another political family.”
And that makes her bad how?
September 12th, 2007 at 9:22 amAlmost there is certainly not as great a result as you’d want, when it means coming in third with only two spots available, but if it were me? Coming in third in a race against 9 other people? Keep it, Ed, and use it next time!
September 12th, 2007 at 9:29 amI will do my best. I too, know very little of Traynum, but I will study hard and put the foot to the pavement to make a good showing. And to correct ya’ll…it’s District #4, not 6.
I don’t consider pointing out the OBVIOUS FLAWS in Ashford’s case “whining”. I’m simply voicing my experiences with relation to him. Ftrom all my conversations this year, I’m not alone in my opinion.
The Fmaily “Dynasty” effect has long been a problem in this City/County. Apples don’t fall far from the trees.
September 12th, 2007 at 9:29 amI’m not a big fan of politico’s who squeeze through because of daddy’s name. After all, look at what we have in the White House.
Maybe some accomplishments and proven competence is more in order than mere name recognition
