Chris Redfern to meet with Lucas County Central Committee Members…Update 2 – Meeting is on!
I’ve been informed that Chris Redfern, Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party is coming to Toledo tomorrow, Friday – August 17th at 4:00 p.m. to meet with all members of the Lucas County Democrat Central Committee.
The meeting will take place at the Lucas County Democratic Headquarters on Madison.
UPDATE: It appears there are people who were not aware of the copy of the email I received, the original was supposedly from Ron Rothenbuhler, Chairman of the Lucas County Democratic Party who asked people to spread the word since not everyone had email. The logical question has been asked how that many people are expected to fit in the Lucas County Democratic Headquarters…stay tuned for how this one ends up.
UPDATE 8/17 10:00 a.m. – I called the headquarters of Lucas County Democrats and the meeting is on tonight with Chris Redfern for those of you can attend. It is not a formal meeting where any voting will take place but an informal one where those of you who are Central Committee Members are welcome to converse with Chris Redfern.
Let the drama begin!
August 16th, 2007 at 3:53 pmNow, when he, Chris, says he’s going to meet the democrats, is he going to meet the democrats John Irish allows, or the one’s that know John Irish is a joke?
Don’t think because John ain’t in the “Seat”, don’t think he ain’t running things, huh Carty?
Chris needs to throw the lot of bums out and pull some young and mature Democrats and put THEM in power.
Clean the whole mess up and a bunch of idiots will now have to find jobs.
August 16th, 2007 at 3:59 pmHe’ll meet with any of them that show up.

August 16th, 2007 at 4:13 pmNow now Brian, Democratic party stands for Democracy for all. All is welcomed and embraced, whether they are fools or not. Go Hillary 2008!!! (noticed my sarcasm for me rooting for Ma Clinton)
August 16th, 2007 at 4:45 pmWill there be popcorn? Refreshments? Naked people? lol
August 16th, 2007 at 7:38 pmCould be invisible people if turns out to be some type of a mistaken email that was sent out…
OMG I see NO people!
August 16th, 2007 at 7:52 pmChad asked: “Will there be popcorn? Refreshments? Naked people?”
I suppose if Chad attends that he can hawk popcorn, provide refreshments, and be the naked person.
I, myself, think that the efforts being made in the local Democratic Party should be considered as honest and sincere. Unless there is any FACTUAL information to the contrary, I welcome getting back to what the Democratic Party is really all about. I would also like to see the local Republican Party have a rebirth.
August 16th, 2007 at 7:59 pmRegardless of the doomsayers and critics of political parties, a strong two-party system is a very intricate part of our political system and of our country.
Awww Roland..I was just trying to lighten the mood..hehe Ya have to maintain some sense of humor on politics..otherwise you become a politican. I too would welcome a revolution of sorts for both parites, especially locally. A healthy world of diversity. Too much of anything can kill ya.
August 16th, 2007 at 8:20 pmYea, I suppose you’re right Chad. My adult daughter is always telling me to lighten up on stuff. I need to keep working on that. Thanks for the diversion.
August 16th, 2007 at 8:32 pm“OMG I see NO people!”
Eyes closed..?
August 16th, 2007 at 9:37 pmBesides..nothing gets me in attendence like free food..lol
August 16th, 2007 at 9:44 pmYou know??? there’s something to be said for “invisible” friends… it’s always nice and quiet.
August 16th, 2007 at 9:46 pmoh…and I’m among the people that look better with clothes on..laf!
August 16th, 2007 at 9:47 pm“UPDATE: It appears there are people who were not aware of the copy of the email I received, the original was supposedly from Ron Rothenbuhler, Chairman of the Lucas County Democratic Party who asked people to spread the word since not everyone had email.”
I said: “Now, when he, Chris, says he’s going to meet the democrats, is he going to meet the democrats John Irish allows, or the one’s that know John Irish is a joke?”
I’d like to know WHO didn’t get the email and WHERE they stand in John Irish’s eyes.
August 17th, 2007 at 4:38 am(I know “SOME” don’t have email, but my own mother has internet access, so I know better)
August 17th, 2007 at 4:39 amCheck out Tom Troy’s article in today’s Blade titled. “Democrats fail to unite on way for Ludeman to lose power.” That tells the real story of the screwed-up local Democratic Party. Unless Redfern has some magical powder to spray on the assembled group, he ought to save gas and ferry money and stay on Catawba Island.
August 17th, 2007 at 8:56 amMud…that was a good read…thanks for the tip.
August 17th, 2007 at 9:03 amI predict that the Lucas County Democratic Party will come together on a united front in the not-too-distant future.
August 17th, 2007 at 9:26 amRoland, perhaps you have some of that magical powder mud mentions and could drop it off at 1817 Madison tonight!
Divisions, resentment and vindictiveness run rampant among those elected democratic officials and others influential in the party. Any unification will only be skin deep until their is a major change in attitude and that is not likely with all the real and perceived transgressions and dirty tricks that have occurred over the past years.
August 17th, 2007 at 9:53 amI have an email address – and its on file – but I didn’t receive this email. Luckily I got notification anyway. Unfortunately, a 4 PM Friday afternoon meeting isn’t as easy to get to as I’d like – darn 9 to 5 occupation!
August 17th, 2007 at 11:14 amAt least the Democrats have a party in Lucas County, unlike the opposition.
August 17th, 2007 at 12:11 pmRoland Hansen said: “I predict that the Lucas County Democratic Party will come together on a united front in the not-too-distant future.”

I have no magical powder. I only have 36 years experience in the local political arena. I stand by my prediction.
