Toledo as 8th most impoverished….
After I read this morning’s article in the Blade, Hard times tighten vise on the poor; U.S. ranks Toledo as nation’s 8th-most impoverished I wondered about the statistics and if there was a new report out there that inspired this coverage.
The last public release from the US Census Department on poverty stats was released on November 18, 2009. link. For those of you wanting to delve into the numbers? Here’s the place to start.
I have not had a chance to go over the statistics, I’m outside of Phoenix visiting my oldest daughter until later this week, but for those of you interested in this topic? A starting point….Other posts related to this topic from the past from 2009, White paper released shows access to family planning sources in Ohio severely inadequate; from 2008 News on Toledo’s poverty rate shouldn’t shock anyone who has been paying attention…
Toledoans should vote for Joe McNamara! Send him to CBus. He has done so much for Toledo. And in a couple years when more seats on City Council are up for grabs. Re-elect the incumbents. Re-elect Skeldon-Wozniak, Gerken, Konop, Lopez, Sarantou, Ashford, Copeland. All of these people have done such wonderful things for TTown!
