Sparrow’s Nest facing record demand for shelter…
22 Nov 2009
Recommended news piece from WTVG, Sparrow’s Nest shelters record numbers of women. This is typically the time of year when people are feeling a bit more generous since we are approaching the holiday season. Considering the colder weather is also approaching, the Cherry Street Mission and other organizations such as the local food banks need our help more now than ever.

The first order of business tomorrow is to call and see what I can do to help. I can’t do much right now, but I certainly can do something.
Truth be told, we all could. If we were willing.

November 23rd, 2009 at 1:11 amThe missions are and have been a top priority for many evangelical churches & individuals, and others, for decades. Good to see the media hiliting some of the needs more now. You can drop off used clothes, blankets, etc., or send donations.
I remember hearing the now-retired head of the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission say on the radio years ago that frequently, when United Way did not have a program or immediate assistance for someone, they (United Way) would send people in need directly to one of the missions.
