Statement from Sarantou on 2010 City Budget released today

Toledo City Councilman, George Sarantou, chair of the Finance & Budget Committee, issued the following statement upon release of Mayor Carleton S. Finkbeiner’s 2010 budget proposal:
“I commit to the citizens of Toledo that I will carefully analyze this proposed budget, call for public budget hearings in the neighborhoods, just as I have in years past, to gather input and suggestions from the citizens of Toledo. This Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 1:30 p.m., I will conduct a Finance & Budget meeting in City Council chambers. Mayor Finkbeiner’s 2010 proposed budget is on the Agenda to be discussed at this meeting.
I look forward to working with Mayor Finkbeiner, his Administration, as well as Mayor-elect Bell, his administration and my colleagues on City Council to adopt a practical and prudent budget for 2010.”
