Those autumn leaves and the City’s leaf collection…
This in via e-mail from the Mayor’s office:
2009 CITY OF TOLEDO LEAF COLLECTION
Due to the late leaf drop this fall, the City of Toledo will begin its formal 2009 Leaf Collection Program on Monday, November 2, and conclude mid December, weather permitting. This schedule is roughly one week later than is typical to maximize the work productivity and efficiency of the operation.
The collection will begin in both curb and uncurbed streets of Zip Codes 43613 and 43623. Watch for media alerts and signs announcing leaf collection in your neighborhood.
As a reminder, this collection is for loose leaves only, and we will not be picking up brush, sticks, or bags of leaves.
Upon the conclusion of our Leaf Collection Program, any remaining leaves can be bagged and placed out for refuse collection.
At any time, leaves can also be recycled at Clean Wood Recycling, 6505 West Bancroft or 5330 Stickney.
For additional information and collection dates, please visit the City of Toledo web site at www.toledo.oh.gov then click the Streets Bridges and Harbors link, or click here . You can also or call 419-936-2523.
Admin addition…one of my classic favorites…
I clicked on the link and there is no information on the city’s web site about leaf collection. BTW, by the time the city gets around to my neighborhood in North Toledo, a lot of leaves from other trees on my street have fallen and are usually covered by snow and ice when the leaf pick-up crew comes by. I just collect them from the tree in front of my house when I mow my lawn and bag them for pickup.
