Every now and then…you just have to have fun…

02 Aug 2007

Today was one of those days, we packed a picnic dinner, loaded up the car, even taking the dog. After stopping by one of my favorite places, the lighthouse at Marblehead, discovering the huge disappointment that Colonel Mustard’s Yellow Custard is out of business…We headed for the beach over at East Harbor…

Even I can be a kid at times….

It was nice to spend time with my family, and to run through the waves, though I didn’t know my husband took the picture till I got home. Not the most flattering picture of me ever but…it caught the moment.

Lisa – looks like a good time was had by all. Sometimes we all have to take a break and refresh and recharge the brain. Glad you got to do something fun that wasn’t related to politics for a change. Bet ya feel better for it, too!

I did, Miguel was just saying it was nice to see me “unwind” though I think my brother in law thinks we girls were crazy to go in the water without swimsuits. We weren’t planning on going in but…it was too appealing not to once we were on the beach.

We went out to Marblehead on July 4th. It was so pretty. Had a nice quiet day, watched the boats and watched Cedar Point from afar. Didn’t make it in the water though. LOL

East Harbor. That sure brings back a lot of memories from my childhood. It always seemed like it took forever to get there.

A place I like to slip away to is Lakeside, though I haven’t been there for years.

    I envy you your day.

We drove through Lakeside, it’s very nice there too. My favorite spot is the rocks by the Lighthouse and then Johnson’s Island which we didn’t get a chance to head over to today.

I feel your pain, Lisa, on Colonel Mustard’s Custard. The first time we drove by after they closed up, I think a little part of me died!

I’ll be heading out that way tonight, we have a house in Catawba and the LCYDer’s will be having a retreat this weekend. For that matter, if anyone is interested in attending our retreat, let me know and I’ll get you the address!

Hope I can find some time to stop by the lighthouse myself, I hate to get all the way to PC and not go the extra ten miles to Marblehead!

Sure, take off and go out playing in the water’ no wonder it’s been so quiet around here, except for our idiot mayor’s willful endangering of defenseless animals and his flagrant violation/abuse of the handicapped parking spaces…

    Enjoy!
