Kasich protested at RGA event in NY

kasich-protest-1A protest sprang up July 13 outside New York City’s exclusive Racquet and Tennis Club where Governor Kasich was attending a Republican Governors Association sponsored fundraiser according to Greg Beswick of Buckeye Strategy Group. Governor Kasich was targeted for protest of because of his public support for SB5 and signing into law of SB5. The bill is on hold pending the outcome a proposed referendum repealing it that is expected to be on the November ballot.

Protester Jonathan Tasini stated, “An attack on workers in Ohio is an attack on workers everywhere. Ohio Governor John Kasich is putting his Wall Street friends before workers and the middle class. It time for him to get his priorities straight.”

It was reported that nearly 100 protesters showed up to let Governor Kasich and his donors know that his policies are attacking the middle class and that he needs to work to create jobs in Ohio according to the release on the protest. Local New York activists also voiced that Ohio Governor Kasich needs to do more to bring jobs to his state and stop supporting harmful policies advocated by the Republican Governors Association.
