Thank you to those of you who e-mailed or called with your get well wishes. Today was my first day without having to take pain pills, so I’m recovering from the hysterectomy very well according to my doctor.

There has been some recent discussion about phasing out the ban on women in combat. With March being declared “Women’s History Month,” it seems appropriate to discuss this now, it’s something that’s been talked about for several years but has never been acted on.
