“Get Looped for Lupe” This Thanksgiving Eve
TOLEDO, Ohio (Nov. 11, 2010)—The Charles E. Boyk Law Offices are teaming up with several area bars and restaurants the day before Thanksgiving to raise money for Guadalupe Ramos.
Last year, Lupe thought she had lost everything. Her son and brother were killed in a car accident; a few weeks later, her home burned to the ground.
Then, thanks to an outpouring of support from the local community through the Love for Lupe project, she received a new car, a new home and job interviews.
Now, though, Lupe needs help to keep her home. At the time of the original fundraising effort, the mortgage holder of Lupe’s new home—a Huron, Ohio attorney named Dan Anderson—agreed to accept $3,500 as payment in full for the home.
Unfortunately, the Love for Lupe project fell short of its goal of raising enough cash to pay off the mortgage. Mr. Anderson now wants $6,000 by the end of the year or he is going to foreclose on Lupe’s home.
On Wednesday, November 24, several area bars and restaurants will collect donations to help pay down Lupe’s mortgage so she can stay in the home volunteers from around the area built for her.
The participating establishments include:
The Blarney Irish Pub (601 Monroe St. in Toledo)
Chuck’s on Monroe (4477 Monroe St. in Toledo)
Arnie’s (3332 W. Central Ave. in Toledo)
Bar Louie (4105 Levis Commons Blvd. in Perrysburg)
Village Idiot (309 Conant St. in Maumee)
Mulvaney’s Bunker Irish Pub (4945 Dorr St. in Toledo)
Ice Restaurant & Bar (PNC Building – 405 Madison Ave. in Toledo)
Frogtown Johnnies (6725 W. Central Ave. in Toledo)
Please consider visiting them and donating to this cause as you celebrate Thanksgiving this year.
We encourage anyone who chooses to participate to please designate a driver and to be responsible while helping us with this effort.
If you would like to donate money directly to Lupe’s cause or have any questions, please call Leslie, Steve or Paige at the Charles E. Boyk Law Offices at (419) 241-1395.
