Fifty Plus Job Fair…

August 20, 2010

“Fifty Plus” Job Fair for Older Workers Returns to Toledo

The Fifty Plus Job Fair, now in its sixth year, returns to Toledo on Friday, September 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Erie Street Market. This job fair has traditionally provided the opportunity for experienced, skilled, and reliable job seekers and savvy employers to meet.

Vendor space for businesses and community resources is now available. Registration is $30 and includes one 8-foot table, chairs, breakfast, and company information promoted in the event directory.

Last year’s event attracted 54 vendors and more than 700 job seekers.

“Employers are looking for employees that will be dependable, productive, punctual honest and experienced…they have just described the older worker,” said Doris Beach, Field Operations Coordinator for Experience Works. “Employers that are serious about investing in their businesses, now and in the future, need to come to the job fair. They will not be disappointed,” Beach added.

“In this tough economy, it’s a simple reality that workers of all ages need good-paying jobs,” said Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak. “I’m proud of our efforts to sponsor this very worthwhile Job Fair.”

To receive vendor registration materials, call The Source at (419) 213-6312, or go to www.thesourcenwo.com to complete an online registration.

Fifty Plus Job Fair 2010 is sponsored by Lucas County Workforce Development Agency, Stautzenberger College and Experience Works.
